Budget domestic manufacturers (local mills) exist in every country. Typically E1–E2 class with minimal decor choice. Suitable for hidden structural elements, not for facades.
What matters when ordering
The difference between brands in finished furniture is minimal. Kronospan with careful assembly will outlast Egger with sloppy edge banding.
- Ask the manufacturer: "Which board brand do you use?" — the answer should be specific
- Emission class: E1 is the standard, E2 is not suitable for living spaces
- For kitchens and bathrooms — moisture-resistant board only (green or blue core)
- Cabinet body thickness: 16 mm minimum, 18 mm preferred for load-bearing shelves
The board brand accounts for 20% of the result. The other 80% is edge banding quality, cutting precision, and hardware. Don't let a salesperson use "Egger" as the main justification for a higher price.
