If your factory works with European equipment, ask the machine supplier which software their post-processor is configured for. This often narrows the choice to two or three options without additional development work.
The Russian and CIS furniture market has developed its own software ecosystem. These programs are historically easier to learn, significantly cheaper than Western equivalents, and adapted to local documentation standards.
The most widely used furniture program in Russia and the CIS. Originally developed in Ukraine/Belarus, now owned by a European company. A straightforward 3D cabinet builder with a library of standard carcasses and materials.

Winner Design was created by Norwegian company Compusoft. It is now part of Cyncly — the largest software holding in the interior design industry, formed from the merger of Compusoft and 2020 Technologies.

Visualisation software is used wherever photorealistic images are needed: marketing materials, product catalogues, designer portfolios. This is a separate world — you are not designing furniture in a technical sense, you are showing how it looks.
The industry standard for professional furniture and interior visualisation. The 3ds Max + V-Ray or Corona combination is used by most architecture studios and furniture manufacturers for their catalogues.
A free professional 3D application. Over the last five years Blender has grown to the point where major studios use it. An active furniture community, good add-ons, continuous development.
SketchUp is a fast and intuitive 3D modeller. On its own it does not produce photorealistic output, but paired with Enscape or V-Ray for SketchUp it becomes a powerful tool for architects and furniture designers.
A specialist renderer for product visualisation. Popular with furniture manufacturers for catalogue shoots without a photo studio — especially for individual pieces and hardware components.

SWOOD is a plugin by French company Eficad that turns SolidWorks into a dedicated furniture CAD. Mainly used at larger European manufacturers where SolidWorks is already deployed.
The classic 2D CAD. In furniture it is used mainly for shop drawings, layout plans, and technical documentation. 3D in AutoCAD is possible but lags well behind purpose-built solutions.
